Sharka Brod Hyland is an artist, designer and educator and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Design. She has also taught at Moore College of Art and Yale University School of Art. Her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions in the US and Canada. She has participated in art residency programs at the Vermont Studio Center and at the Banff Centre. Her work has been recently featured in the Mid-Atlantic edition of New American Paintings.
She received the MFA from Yale University. She has also studied Art History at the Ecole du Louvre and linguistics at Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg, Germany. She received her undergraduate art training at the Professional School for the Arts in Prague. She is fluent in Czech, English, German, French and Russian.
